Football Crazy

During this period of football-league lockdown, I've turned to table-football.  During an average match, for each team, 16 passes occur between every two players within a team. That is, every player except the goalie, who only passes to the three defenders. Although, every match, one of his/her passes go wrong (and end up with the other team). The goalie never receives a pass from his/her outfield players.

  • Calculate how many successful passes the blues make during a match.
  • Write this number in binary (base 2) and count how many one-digits are in the number.
  • Convert this number to its corresponding letter in the alphabet, e.g. A=1, B=2, etc.

This is your answer.
